Medicaid Nursing Care Services

Our 24-hour nursing care is administered by qualified staff to assess and treat most medical conditions on site. We offer the expertise to admininster medications drawn up in a syringe, so we can quickly respond to emergencies. Our Health Services Supervisor oversees all aspects of nursing care, including tube feeding, specialized nursing plans, skin care, and use of restraints when necessary for safety and positioning.

Rehabilitation – Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies

We complete assessments and develop programming that address target physical needs to help residents aquire the skills to gain maximum independence, maintain optimum functioning, and prevent regression.

Specialized Care for the Developmentally Challenged

In addition to long-term care, we provide short-term respite and recuperative services abounding in tender loving care. These are 24-hour-per-day services - not to be confused with a day program that offers supervision and programming for a portion of the day. Respites can be provided for up to 28 consecutive days. Recuperation care can be provided for up to 90 days.

Social and Recreational Activities

You don't have to worry about your loved one being bored or lonely. Each week we offer a variety of recreational and extracurricular activities including bingo, popcorn and movie night, church services, and sing-alongs conducted by volunteers from the community.

We are continually coming up with creative reasons to have even more fun, like pajama day, and silly hat day. We also celebrate all traditional holidays and seasons, including our Fall Festival, complete with a hayride and campfire. And of course we celebrate everyone's favorite - birthday parties! We celebrate each resident's special day with a cake and presents.

Local Transportation and Outings

Residents may also participate in community activities on a monthly basis. We provide transportation with wheelchair access when needed. Some of our past favorites include:

Most important, we strongly encourage family participation. The families of our residents always look forward to our annual summer picnic and our popular Christmas party. Even when nothing is planned, families are always welcome!

Individualized Activities

Active treatment is the cornerstone of placement at Sheltered Village of Ripon. We fill the day for each resident with a variety of activities for stimulations, recreation, and relaxation. Using a team approach, we develop an individualized 24-hour schedule for each resident. These activites are fun and allow the resident to unwind, but they are also designed to teach instrumental skills and socially responsible behavior. Programming includes reality orientation, communication, body awareness, sensory stimulation, and exercise to address therapy needs.

Balanced Nutrition to Match Dietary Needs

We provide nutritious, home-cooked meals and snacks. We can accommodate specialized diets from tube feeding to purees, thickened liquids, or mechanically cut meals. Our Dietary Services staff works in conjunction with Nursing Services to monitor intakes and monthly weights.
